Tony Naughtin has senior executive experience in operating management, business development, and consulting roles. He has been a successful CEO and entrepreneur, and has expertise in developing and executing business models and successful business relationships. From September 2021 until October 2023 Naughtin served as founding President and COO of GoldenStateNet, the Third Party Administrator for the State of California’s $3.8B middle-mile network development initiative that will bring broadband services to the many un-served and underserved residents of California. Naughtin continues as an advisor to GoldenStateNet while also working on additional consulting engagements.
Earlier in his career Naughtin co-founded Internap Network Services Corporation - which pioneered high performance managed services in the Internet infrastructure marketplace. Naughtin served as CEO of the company in its first 5+ years. He led Internap to $125 million in annual revenues in that time, and completed two successful public stock offerings. Since his Internap days Naughtin has served in senior management, business development, and consulting roles in the network and cloud services sectors and business technology ecosystems. He has deep experience in advancing strategies and closing transactions with (or on behalf of) enterprise clients, software and content providers, MSPs/CSPs, and network and data center operators. He began his career in high performance infrastructure services in the early 1990s at NorthWestNet, an original gateway provider to the NSFNET.
Mr. Naughtin has served as a board director for a variety of companies, both public and private, and is currently Chairman and President of the Pacific NW Gigapop. He was also a founding director of the Center for Technology and Entrepreneurship at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. Mr. Naughtin started his career as a staff attorney with Cablevision Systems Corporation in Long Island, New York. He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Iowa and is a graduate of the Creighton University School of Law.
